Since Monday, June 24 until the Day of German Unity on Thursday, October 3, a movie, light and sound projection on the facade of the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus takes place every evening at the beginning of the darkness in Berlin’s parliamentary quarter. The half-hour installation titled “The German People – A Parliamentary Search for Traces From the Reichstag to the Bundestag” shows the history of parliamentarism in Germany and of the Reichstag building.
The center of the filming of historical events is the Reichstag building. The film begins with the imperial era at the end of the 19th century and traces the parliamentary development in the Weimar Republic, leads through the darkest epoch after the National Socialists came to power, extends to the division of Germany, shows its overcoming and shows the completion of German unity until into the present.
From Friedrich-Ebert-Platz and from the Reichstag bank, every spectator can experience this exciting performance across the Spree.
